Information & Educational Technology Administrative Unit Review
Chancellor Katehi has determined that it will be best to address the Budget Advisory Committee recommendations about the deployment and management of technology at UC Davis in two phases.
Phase I: Setting the Direction
As a first step, the Chancellor has appointed a committee chaired by Dean Dennis Pendleton (UC Davis Extension) and Professor Peter Yellowlees (School of Medicine). The committee's is charged to review the mission of IET and make recommendations about possible changes that would result in a more strategic and forward-looking engagement between IET and the teaching research and public service needs of faculty, staff, and students at UC Davis.
After receiving these recommendations and affirming a specific mission for IET, the chancellor will appoint a second review committee, more akin to a traditional administrative review panel, to address organizational structures, strategies, and tactics that will align IET with the agreed upon mission.
Chancellor Katehi has requested that this committee provide her recommendations on the mission of IET by October 1, 2010. The committee roster and charge letter can be viewed in the IET Mission Review page.
Phase II: IET Organization, Strategies, and Processes
After the mission of IET is reviewed and established as described above, the Chancellor will appoint an administrative unit review panel to review the organization and processes of IET to a ensure that they are aligned with the agreed upon mission.
