Writing Technical Documents

This one-day course provides intensive instruction on effective technical writing.

Course Description

Technical writing is a type of writing where the author is writing about a particular subject requiring direction, instruction, or explanation. Participants will explore concepts ranging from audience and plain language to types of reports and logical organization. 

Objectives—Back on the job, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the key features of technical writing
  • Understand and employ the tenet of plain language
  • Organize their documents using a logical flow
  • Know the difference between active and passive voice
