Bio

Byron Roberts has worked for eight years in university technology transfer and patent law, including five years in university technology transfer and three years as a patent agent at a law firm.  Byron is a Senior IP Officer in the UC Davis technology transfer office, where he currently splits his time between licensing and directing patent prosecution of part of the campus’ patent portfolio, copyright management, and stewardship of large data sets.  Byron also has expertise in managing large portfolios of tangible property assets and negotiating a wide range of types of agreements.  Byron received his Ph.D. from Cornell University Weill Medical College in 2011 (Computational Biology and Medicine) and graduated from UC Davis in 2003 with a B.S. in Genetics.
