What to Expect
Turnaround timelines assume that submitted requests are:
- Complete and accurate
- Aligned with applicable policy or collective bargaining agreements (CBA)
- Approved by the appropriate division/department authority
Incomplete submissions or requests requiring clarification will pause the review timeline until resolved.
Important Considerations
- Some represented staff actions require union notice, which will impact time to complete
- Requests involving broader or more complex review may require additional time

Recruitment

This timeframe does not include downstream recruitment or hiring timelines.
For recruitments, Compensation Services determines the appropriate classification by evaluating the position’s job duties, scope of responsibilities, purpose, and qualifications, including alignment with job standards or class specifications and comparison to similar roles.
What Happens During This Time
- Review of submission for completeness and required approvals (e.g., organizational charts, Workforce Management approval)
- Creation of a new position or updating an existing position in UCPath
- Creation of a job opening for release to Talent Acquisition for posting
