Caregiver Education & Support Program

The UC Davis Caregiver Support Program provides a list of area support groups.

Please email worklife@ucdavis.edu and request to be put on the "familycaregiver" mailing list for a quarterly update on local resources and occasional notices of upcoming relevant events.

Monday

Every Monday

  • Anticipatory Loss Support Group.  7:00-8:30pm Yolo Cares, 1909 Galileo Court, Suite A, Davis. Patients and their loved ones anticipate certain losses when dealing with a serious of life-limiting illness. 530-758-5566

  • Drop-in Grief Support Group for Adults 6:00-7:30 pm at Yolo Cares, 1909 Galileo Court, Suite A, Davis. This on-going drop-in group aims to provide support for bereaved at any phase of their grief experience.

Saturday

Second Saturday of each month

  • Women Spouses Caregiver Support Group:  a support group specifically for women caring for their spouses.  Location alternates between Woodland and Davis on the second Saturday of each month, from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. For more information, call (530) 666-8828.

Second & Fourth Saturdays each month

  • Saturday Club is the only weekend program in Yolo County to provide on-site social respite activities for seniors. Offered two Saturdays a month, Saturday Club provides caregivers a five-hour break. Participants can enjoy a healthy lunch and engaging activities such as music, art and low-impact exercise. Saturday Club is led by professional program staff with the support of volunteers. Saturday Club is hosted at Galileo Place Adult Day Center, a beautiful facility with an accompanying therapy garden. Session fees are $50 per day. Prospective participants will be evaluated to determine if the program will meet their needs. Please contact Amy Meier, ameier@yolocares.org to see if Saturday Club is right for your loved one.
