Annalisa Teixeira,  Executive Director for Learning and Organizational Development

Annalisa has been serving in this role in an interim capacity since January 2024. Prior to that, she led the Learning and Development function, first for the Davis campus only and then since mid-2022 across both the Davis and Sacramento campuses. During this time period, she has overseen the integration of teams and functions and the launch of new programs, from leadership development to supporting employee engagement. Her leadership has been crucial in launching the new People Management Essentials program, to expanding career development support, including the annual Career Development Week, and to strengthening the department’s reach, branding, communications, day-to-day processes, and overall impact.

A proud UC Davis alumna (PhD, ’15), Annalisa’s commitment to the UC Davis community spans more than a decade. Her deep connection to our missions of research, education, patient care, and public service is what drives her dedication to supporting the staff who make it all possible. Annalisa has shared with me, and I’m sure with others, that this is much more than a job to her, but rather it is her calling.

In her new position, Annalisa will help shape the future of Learning and Organizational Development, working with her team to design and implement strategies for talent management, organizational effectiveness, employee/leadership development, and employee engagement across UC Davis and UC Davis Health. Her investment in management development and strategic alignment with engagement survey themes is one of many examples that demonstrate her understanding and commitment to retaining and developing our diverse workforce.

Upon accepting the position, Annalisa shared with me that she is deeply honored to lead such a capable team doing such impactful work. She is grateful for the opportunity and the dedication and many talents the L&OD team brings in service to our mission and our people.

Please join me in congratulating Annalisa on this well-deserved appointment as she continues to lead our efforts in fostering a thriving community at UC Davis and UC Davis Health!

Wishing you all the very best.
