Feedback from the 2025 Employee Experience Survey reinforced themes that have surfaced across listening tours, exit surveys and development conversations: employees want stronger managers, clearer growth pathways and meaningful leadership support.

In response, Learning and Organizational Development expanded programs to strengthen leadership capability, increase career mobility and enhance the new hire experience. The progress below highlights how employee feedback is translating into measurable action across the enterprise.

Together we did: Expand career mobility programs and coaching.

  • Career Development Week reached 683 attendees, a 71% increase year over year
  • 95% of participants said the program impacts their decision to stay
  • 100 employees received individualized career coaching in its first full enterprise year

These efforts directly support internal mobility and long-term retention.

You said you want stronger managers and clearer leadership expectations.

Together we did: Scale manager development across the enterprise.

This investment strengthens frontline leadership at scale and supports more consistent employee experience across teams.

Together we did: Expand coaching and mentoring opportunities.

  • 28 leaders participated in individual coaching
  • 100% satisfaction and 100% would recommend coaching
  • Group Mentoring Program grew to 90 participants with a Net Promoter Score of 96.8

High satisfaction and strong participation reflect meaningful impact across both campuses and UC Davis Health. Applications for the 2026 Group Mentoring Program are open March 1-31.
