The SSO Shared Services Organization - 2025 Year in Review

As we close out 2025, I feel a deep sense of gratitude and pride for what the SSO team has accomplished this year. Like many departments across UC Davis, we’ve navigated significant change and new challenges. Through collaboration with our central partners and clients, we’ve worked to create clarity, strengthen efficiency, and maintain the high level of customer satisfaction that defines our work.

One of our most significant milestones was completing our multi-year effort to enhance the student recruitment experience. Concluding in March 2025, this project reduced time-to-hire and improved hire-status visibility for departments and candidates alike. Even with these improvements, our commitment continues—we’re identifying new opportunities to refine and streamline further.

This year also brought major UCPath updates, including the modernization release and expanded direct-entry functionality. We’ve now fully implemented these features, allowing our team to process transactions faster and generate employee IDs immediately in most cases—an important win for both employees and departments.

Demand across campus has continued to rise despite budget and staffing challenges. Our student employment and onboarding teams, in particular, have faced impressive growth: onboarding appointments increased by 7% from FY 24/25 to FY 25/26, and rose 14% in spring and 23% in summer 2025. We’re actively exploring sustainable ways to meet these needs in the year ahead.

Looking to 2026, we’re excited about projects such as UCPath Final Pay enhancements and the launch of AggieService 2.0—a modernization that will provide a centralized, user-friendly HR service portal with improved case tracking, status visibility, and a foundation for AI integration.

Reflecting on the past year, 2025 has been one of progress, teamwork, and continuous improvement. I am inspired by the dedication of our HR-SSO team and grateful for the collaboration that defines the broader UC Davis community.
